Scary Movie 5 T.V. Trailer

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cPniXnMujAU

The Scary Movies are a horror comedy spoof film. The 5th one just came out. I love all of the Scary Movies, but this one wasn't the best one. This is the Scary Movie 5 movie trailer that was shown on T.V. It is 31 seconds long.

It's hard to perfectly count the timing of scenes in movie trailers. This is what I got from beginning to end: 1, 1, 3, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 1, 1, 1, 2, 1, 1, 4, 2, and 2. The last 2 scenes were the title of the movie/rating and the release date. At 5 seconds in showed a black screen with the producers name (Dimension Films). This trailer also had audio that was separate from the dialogues and music. At 5 seconds the narrator said: "One movie has everything you are looking for" then it showed 3 different scenes that said, "Witches, The Bible, and Demons." It made it seem like the people were responding to the narrator. At 13 seconds he said, "more action," at 20 seconds he said, "more excitement," and at 23 seconds he said, "and more surprises."

I have to create a 30 second movie trailer and this movie trailer is only 1 second longer than what I have to create. I might use similar timing for my scenes. I like the timing of the scenes. I like how they have fast scenes that are broken up by slower scenes. It gives the viewers some breathing time. They have scenes that are less then a second to scenes that are 4 seconds long. The spacing of the short and long scenes work well. I don't like movie trailers that have all 1 second scenes, it goes too fast and can be distracting. I also like how there was a narrator in this movie trailer. Sometimes narrators work and other times they don't. It all depends on the type of movie. In this case the narrator worked.

I only saw 2 different transitions. All of the scenes went straight to the next scene and one scene swiped into the next scene. The scenes were from different parts of the movie, but they didn't have any kind of transition between them. I didn't have a problem with the transitions. This movie doesn't need any dramatic black screen pauses or flashes since it's a horror comedy spoof film.
