This is the 1997 Titanic movie trailer. It is 4:09 minutes long. The more recent movie trailers are about 2:30 minutes long. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zCy5WQ9S4c0
The trailer is long so I didn't count how long each scene was. I counted up to about 1:50 minutes. The first clip shows the rating of the movie (PG-13) on a green screen that stays up for 5 seconds. Then the timing is as follows: 2, 2, 2, 2, 1, 2, 1, 1, 3, 3, 1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3, 1, 1, 2, 3, 1, 2, then a black pause, 3, another black pauses, 2, 2, 2, 1, 3, 2, 1, 1, 1, 3, 1, 1, 1, 7, 1, 2, 1, 2 seconds. At 3:14 mintues it showed a black screen that said "A James Camerion Flim" and that was up for 1 seconds. At 3:18 minutes it showed a black screen that said "Leonardo Dicaprio" for 1seconds. At 3:22 it showed another black screen that said "Kate Winslet" for 1 second. The scenes got faster towards the end when the ship was sinking. There was a white flash at 4:01 minutes then it showed the word "Titanic" against one of the scenes in the beginning of the trailer. It ended with 2 black screens with some information ( 2 seconds each) then it showed the release date at the very end for 3 seconds.
There are some current movie trailers that show the actors name in the trailer, but I don't see that a lot. The "narrator" usually says the famous actors name during the trailer over top of a scene (separate audio). All of the titling was towards the end. The movie trailer has it's own design language. All oF the titling was in capital letters and it had a white to blue gradient on the words.
I think the trailer was too long and showed too much of the film. It was more of a summary of the movie instead of a trailer. I pretty much know everything that is going to happen in this movie because it showed scenes from the beginning, middle, and end. If I was to go watch this movie in theaters I wouldn't be surprise at anything. That is a bad thing to do in movie trailers. They shouldn't give away the whole movie. I also think this trailer lost a lot of it's viewers interest/attention because it was so long. They should have shaved off about 2 minutes.
