This is a skit by Jimmy Fallon on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. This video is 2:58 minutes long. The editors and producers of Late night with Jimmy Fallon made this video. I am doing a self-interview about my work at the horse barn. This is a great video to look back on.
It starts out with Jimmy Fallon behind his studio desk talking about the Kentucky Derby. The camera is looking at Jimmy straight on. At 27 seconds it cuts to a establishing shot of the horse farm and there is soft/relaxing music playing. It is a tilt shot of the pasture and horses grazing. Then it cuts to a close up of a horse eating grass. Then it cuts to a horse trotting around the field. At 35 seconds it shows Jimmy with a big pink hat on walking towards a table. Then it fades to the next scene. At 58 seconds it shows that Jimmy is in the barn talking to the horse. It shows Jimmy sitting on a chair at a slight angle. The next cut is the horse "Orb" in his stall. It is a close up of the horse's face and you can see some parts of his stall. A yellow rectangle pops up at the right hand corner of the screen that says, "Orb the horse." Another camera angle shows a wide view of the barn. You can see where Jimmy is sitting at and the horse's stall. It cuts back and forth between Jimmy and Orb about 13 times. They show the wide view of the barn about 3 or 4 times. At 2:28 minutes it cuts to Jimmy ridding the horse, but you only see him from the waist up. I doubt that he is actually riding the horse. I think they just made it look like he was. Then it shows the horse running with a dummy on his back that is supposed to look like Jimmy. Then it fades in black and cuts back to Jimmy in his studio at 2:38 minutes. Jimmy says his thanks and then it's over. Late Night with Jimmy Fallon shows up at the top right hand corner the whole time the video is playing.
I really liked this interview. Even though it was a skit the editors and producers did a good job of filming. They showed establishing shots, walking shots, wide angles shots, close-up shots, and B-roll. The camera was very steady the whole time. I liked that they had music in the very beginning when they were showing B-roll. When Jimmy was interviewing the horse they cut back and forth between them. That's what I need to do with my interview. I know they must have edited a lot out. To get the horse to do the things he did (snort, shake his head, stick his tongue, etc.) took more than one shot to get. I know horses don't do that on command. It's timing and luck. No matter how much they had to cut out the final video was very good.
