101 Dalmatians (One Hundred and One Dalmatians) 1961 Movie Trailer

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0055254/ This is the 101 Dalmatians movie trailer. It's original title was One Hundred and One Dalmatians in 1961. I'm not sure if this is the original movie trailer or not. Bueno Vista which is a brand name frequently used for divisions of The Walt Disney Company.

This movie trailer is 1:51 minutes long. I counted the different timing of cuts/scenes as follows (this may not be exact timing) 6, 3, 2, 2, 2, 3, 2, 2, 1, 3, 2, 1, 2, 3, 3, 2, 1, 1, 2, 1, 1, 2, 1, 2, 1, 2, 1, 1, 2, 2, 2, 2, 1, 1, 2, 1, 1, 2, 1, 2, 1, 1, 1, 1, 2, 2, 2, 1, 2, 1, 3, 2, 1, 2, 2, 2, 3, 2, 3, 2, 4, 3, 2. It starts out with a long scene of the human parents playing the piano with all of the puppies and dog parents in the room gathered around the piano. "101 Dalmatians" shows on the screen for about 3 seconds. The color of the word is red with a white outline and it's a sans serif font.  This trailer doesn't use any transitions. All of the scenes go to the next scene without a transition. There is some dialogue, a narrator, and background music. There is background music playing throughout the trailer. The music is turned down when a character is speaking. This trailer shows scenes from all parts of the movie. At 1:39 minutes it says "Two Thumbs Up! -Siskel and Ebert" in yellow over top of the scenes. At 1:42 minutes it says "Wonderful... On a Scale of 10 This Film Gets 101! - Good Morning America." in the same font and color as the last quote. The tilting is aligned left and takes up a good portion of the bottom part of the scene. The ending clip last about 3 seconds and it's the exact clip from the very beginning of the trailer. It also shows the tilting of the movie again then it fades to black.

This is a very old film so the producers and editors didn't have the technology that we do today. Back then it was probably amazing how far motion pictures had come. 101 Dalmatians will always be a classic, so I can't critique this trailer too much because it was made in 1961. Our movies have come a long way since then. The tilting is very weak in this movie trailer. The beginning and ending titling isn't bad for 1961, but the rest of the tilting is weak. I liked the timing of the different scenes. This trailer had slow and fast scenes. I thought the narrator and music helped this movie trailer. Most of the newer movie trailers don't have narrators. The music fit this trailer well. Other than the titling, I think this is a well put together movie trailer.
