This is a interview about a lady who paints skeletons, muscles, and other anatomical designs of a horse on horses. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JFhkhcBvbEU I can't find out who made this video.
I am making a self-interview video with me as the interviewer and interviewee. My interview is about my work with horses. I am looking up interviews that are horse related so I can get an idea of the timing, cuts, angles, questions, and how the people act, talk, and move.
They start out with titling that says "Horses Inside Out interview on Pet Nation- Sky 1 May 2010." That last for about three seconds. They show a high angle shot of the studio where the interview is going to take place at that lasts about 3 seconds. Then they cut to the 2 interviewers. The lady talks for about 9 seconds then it cuts to the interviewee. The cut lasts about 5 seconds and during the cut she is walking to the stage. The camera zooms in on her than out and the camera also moves with her while she is walking. The next cut is a close up of the interviewee shaking hands with all of the interviewers (3 interviewers). The next cut is them sitting down and getting settled. The lady interviewer talks for 7 seconds (close up shot) and then it cuts to the lady interviewee(close up shot). She talks for 20 seconds, but the camera is not on her the whole time. She starts to talk at 37 seconds. At 43 seconds the camera cuts to the woman and man interviewers for 2 seconds- they are showing the 2 people listening and reacting to the interviewee talking. Then it cuts back to a close up shot of the interviewee still talking. At 50-53 seconds the camera cuts to the 3rd interviewer (the other man) to show him listening and reacting to the interviewee talking. After she is done talking is cuts to the 2 interviewers (woman and man) and they begin to ask the interviewee a question. At 57 seconds everybody takes a look at a clip of the painted horse cantering over jumps. It shows the video of the horse behind a blue background with swirls. The video clip last 17 seconds. The show the same video twice: one at regular speed and the other one in slow-motion. Then it cuts back to the 2 interviewers (woman and man). They camera angle shows the people from the waist up sitting on the couch. The lady asks the interviewee another question and when the interviewee responds to the question the camera cuts back to her talking. The camera angle shows the interviewee from the chest up and you can't see the couch. The camera cuts back between the interviewee and the interviewer 4 times before the camera (and people) go into a completely different scene/cut.
At 1:30 minutes the camera cuts to another part of the studio that shows her painted horse and a painted guy. The woman interviewee walks up to her horse and she explains what she does and what the paintings mean. At 2:38 minutes the camera is on the interviewee and her horse, but the woman interviewer is asking her another question. Then the camera cuts to the woman and man interviewer for a few seconds then cuts back to the interviewee and her horse. They do that a few more times. At 5:00 minutes the woman interviewer says "Thank you very much Freddie folks, Jillian." Then the camera cuts to the interviewee and her horse and in the background people are clapping then it ends with a tilting screen that says, "With thanks to twofour studios."
I really like this interview. I think it is well put together. They showed people walking towards a place. They showed various camera angles of the studio and of people, and they also showed reactions of people while someone else is talking. They even had music in the beginning. Everything they showed in this video is what we talked about in my digital video class in college. I am going to reference back to this video while I am making my self-interview video.
