Full Jennifer Lawrence Interview- Late Show with David Letterman

This is a 13:54 minutes interview between David Letterman and Jennifer Lawrence. This is the full interview. I'm assuming that the editors of Late Show with David Letterman made this video.

This is a typical talk show interview between the host and a celebrity. Jennifer Lawrence is so honest and she is talking like a regular person. Jennifer is not reading a script and you can tell. It seems like she is having a casual conversation with someone. It doesn't even seem like she is on t.v. the way she is talking.

They show David Letterman talking behind his desk and he introduces her. Then they show Jennifer Lawrence walking towards the chairs. They shake hands and then they both sit down. The camera is straight on both people. David and Jennifer are sitting at a angle on the chair so it doesn't look straight on. They show a close-up on Jennifer's face and then they cut back to both people several times. Jennifer Lawrence is just being herself. Both characters especially Jennifer have different tones of voice, use their hands to talk, and have different facial expressions. They show a few B-roll shots like the band playing and outside of the studio. They show some close-ups of mounted pictures of Jennifer. They show bad and good pictures of her.

I know this is a typical late show interview, but the thing that makes it great is Jennifer Lawrence. I like watching her talk and the things that comes out of her mouth are honest, funny, and random. She really makes the interview. I like that they show close-ups of Jennifer's face and show some B-roll. It would be too boring if they just showed on camera angle the whole time. I like the questions and responses in this interview. I will reference back to this interview for tones of voice, facial expression, and hand movements.

Funny Cute Friendly Horse Crashes TV Interview

This is a 37 second interview about a guy and his horse winning the Classic final. This is an interview between a reporter and a trainer. This takes places inside and you can see where the horses are tied up (temporary stalls). Both people are standing up. It shows the two people and the horse in the background.

The interviewer starts out asking a question, but she gets interrupted by the horse. She starts laughing and then she pets the horse. She repeats her question and then the interviewee responds. While the interviewee is responding the camera slowly zooms in on him. A white banner pops up at the bottom of the screen that says, www.HarnessWeek.com visit us online for harness racing fun, features & news. The tiling starts at 9 seconds and stays up till 24 seconds. The interviewer asks another question and he responds. She is holding a microphone. When the reporter is talking she holds the microphone close to her mouth then she holds towards the trainer's mouth. Towards the end the reporter is petting the horse's nose and then the horse starts playing with his trainer's hat. The reporter laughs again. The last part quickly fades into black and that's the end.

This interview was probably edited down to the 37 seconds. I'm assuming that Harness Week is the one who made the video. I liked the questions that the reporter asks. I think the reporter and trainer did a good job of talking back and forth.  It was funny that the horse wanted some attention too. There was only two camera angles, which was the main one (waist up and the background) and then a close up on the people and horse. This is a continuous video and there are no cuts. Most news reports are usually just one continues video since it's usually live. The camera showed more of the trainer's face instead of the reporters. The camera was at a slight diagonal angle. I liked that the camera wasn't straight one. That would have been too boring.

Jimmy Interviews Kentucky Derby Horse Orb

This is a skit by Jimmy Fallon on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. This video is 2:58 minutes long. The editors and producers of Late night with Jimmy Fallon made this video. I am doing a self-interview about my work at the horse barn. This is a great video to look back on.

It starts out with Jimmy Fallon behind his studio desk talking about the Kentucky Derby. The camera is looking at Jimmy straight on. At 27 seconds it cuts to a establishing shot of the horse farm and there is soft/relaxing music playing. It is a tilt shot of the pasture and horses grazing. Then it cuts to a close up of a horse eating grass. Then it cuts to a horse trotting around the field. At 35 seconds it shows Jimmy with a big pink hat on walking towards a table. Then it fades to the next scene. At 58 seconds it shows that Jimmy is in the barn talking to the horse. It shows Jimmy sitting on a chair at a slight angle.  The next cut is the horse "Orb" in his stall. It is a close up of the horse's face and you can see some parts of his stall. A yellow rectangle pops up at the right hand corner of the screen that says, "Orb the horse." Another camera angle shows a wide view of the barn. You can see where Jimmy is sitting at and the horse's stall. It cuts back and forth between Jimmy and Orb about 13 times.  They show the wide view of the barn about 3 or 4 times. At 2:28 minutes it cuts to Jimmy ridding the horse, but you only see him from the waist up. I doubt that he is actually riding the horse. I think they just made it look like he was. Then it shows the horse running with a dummy on his back that is supposed to look like Jimmy. Then it fades in black and cuts back to Jimmy in his studio at 2:38 minutes. Jimmy says his thanks and then it's over. Late Night with Jimmy Fallon shows up at the top right hand corner the whole time the video is playing.

I really liked this interview. Even though it was a skit the editors and producers did a good job of filming. They showed establishing shots, walking shots, wide angles shots, close-up shots, and B-roll. The camera was very steady the whole time.  I liked that they had music in the very beginning when they were showing B-roll. When Jimmy was interviewing the horse they cut back and forth between them. That's what I need to do with my interview. I know they must have edited a lot out. To get the horse to do the things he did (snort, shake his head, stick his tongue, etc.) took more than one shot to get. I know horses don't do that on command. It's timing and luck. No matter how much they had to cut out the final video was very good.

Horses Insdie Out Interview with Liza Tarbuck

I am making a self-interview video with me as the interviewer and interviewee. My interview is about my work with horses. I am looking up interviews that are horse related so I can get an idea of the timing, cuts, angles, questions, and how the people act, talk, and move.

They start out with titling that says "Horses Inside Out interview on Pet Nation- Sky 1 May 2010." That last for about three seconds. They show a high angle shot of the studio where the interview is going to take place at that lasts about 3 seconds. Then they cut to the 2 interviewers. The lady talks for about 9 seconds then it cuts to the interviewee. The cut lasts about 5 seconds and during the cut she is walking to the stage. The camera zooms in on her than out and the camera also moves with her while she is walking. The next cut is a close up of the interviewee shaking hands with all of the interviewers (3 interviewers). The next cut is them sitting down and getting settled. The lady interviewer talks for 7 seconds (close up shot) and then it cuts to the lady interviewee(close up shot). She talks for 20 seconds, but the camera is not on her the whole time. She starts to talk at 37 seconds. At 43 seconds the camera cuts to the woman and man interviewers for 2 seconds- they are showing the 2 people listening and reacting to the interviewee talking. Then it cuts back to a close up shot of the interviewee still talking. At 50-53 seconds the camera cuts to the 3rd interviewer (the other man) to show him listening and reacting to the interviewee talking. After she is done talking is cuts to the 2 interviewers (woman and man) and they begin to ask the interviewee a question. At 57 seconds everybody takes a look at a clip of the painted horse cantering over jumps. It shows the video of the horse behind a blue background with swirls. The video clip last 17 seconds. The show the same video twice: one at regular speed and the other one in slow-motion. Then it cuts back to the 2 interviewers (woman and man). They camera angle shows the people from the waist up sitting on the couch. The lady asks the interviewee another question and when the interviewee responds to the question the camera cuts back to her talking. The camera angle shows the interviewee from the chest up and you can't see the couch. The camera cuts back between the interviewee and the interviewer 4 times before the camera (and people) go into a completely different scene/cut.

At 1:30 minutes the camera cuts to another part of the studio that shows her painted horse and a painted guy. The woman interviewee walks up to her horse and she explains what she does and what the paintings mean. At 2:38 minutes the camera is on the interviewee and her horse, but the woman interviewer is asking her another question. Then the camera cuts to the woman and man interviewer for a few seconds then cuts back to the interviewee and her horse. They do that a few more times. At 5:00 minutes the woman interviewer says "Thank you very much Freddie folks, Jillian." Then the camera cuts to the interviewee and her horse and in the background people are clapping then it ends with a tilting screen that says, "With thanks to twofour studios."

I really like this interview. I think it is well put together. They showed people walking towards a place.They showed various camera angles of the studio and of people, and they also showed reactions of people while someone else is talking. They even had music in the beginning. Everything they showed in this video is what we talked about in my digital video class in college. I am going to reference back to this video while I am making my self-interview video.

Hungry Games T.V. Spot

Most of the movie trailers I see are the ones on t.v. They usually air for about 30 seconds. That's how I find out about new movies. It's hard to find the movie trailers online that are only 30 seconds long. I did find the Hunger Games 31 second movie trailer on YouTube. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kr-ei1EJjns I am making a 30 second original movie trailer, so I am researching other movie trailers to get inspiration.

The longest scene was the very first one that was about 3 seconds long. Most of the other scenes are about 1 second long and there was a few that were 2 seconds long. This is a fast paced movie trailer. At 8 seconds a tilting scene comes up that say "From the Best-Selling Epic Novels" and that shows for under 2 seconds. At 11 second there is a voice over that lasts till 17 seconds. There are 12 different cuts/scenes during that time. They show the actual guy talking at 12 seconds for about 1 second. The Hunger Games titling and logo appears at 25 seconds and lasts till 27 second. The fire in the logo is burning during that time so it's not a still shot. The release date, March 23rd shows up after the title for 3 seconds then there is a black screen and that's the end of the trailer.

The music fit well with this trailer. At 4 and 6 seconds there was a quick and dark sound that fit well with the scene. Music was playing during the rest of the movie and when someone was talking the music was turned down and when no one was talking the music was turned backed up. The transitions include none and a quick black flash. I saw the quick black flash transition used twice. The rest of the scenes didn't have any kind of transition. This movie trailer went a little quick for me. They should take out a few cuts and make other cuts a little longer. It included many different scenes and some of the scenes got lost because they weren't even up for a second. I think there are a couple of t.v. spot movie trailers for The Hunger Games. If I was seeing this trailer for the first time I don't think I would fully understand the movie. There are better 30 second movie trailers out there.

Evil Dead Movie Trailer (2013)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FKFDkpHCQz4 This is the Evil Dead movie trailer. This is the remake of the 1981 Evil Dead movie. This trailer is 2:05 minutes long. I'm not sure who made this movie trailer, but I know that TriStar, Film District, and Ghost House Pictures produced this film.

The beginning of the trailer shows the green screen and then it shows three small logos of TriStar, Film District, and Ghost House Pictures. The beginning of the trailer starts out slow with creepy music in the background. At 23 seconds it says" From the produces of the horror classic," at 31 seconds it says "Comes a new vision," at 40 seconds it says "Once you unleash evil," at 46 seconds it says "It will consume you," at 1:00 minute it says "This April," at 1:09 minutes it says "Fear," at 1:15 minutes it says "What," at 1:19 minutes it says "You will become," and at 1:44 minutes it says "Evil Dead." Then it shows a few more scenes then it cuts to a black screen then it cuts back into a action scene. The release date shows up at 1:59 minutes and lasts for about 3 seconds.

The scene that is really creepy is at 56 seconds where the girl is possessed and she is covered in black slime in the woods. There are a lot of scary scenes throughout this trailer.

The transitions they used in this trailer are a slow black flash, a long black pause, going straight to the next scene, and a very quick horizontal black flash. The show some dialogue. There is some background music, but it doesn't play the entire time. The music fits with the various scenes well. I really like how they did the tilting. Each word popped up on it's own and there was sound that followed the words popping up. The words are in white against a black background with a sans-serif font. The font isn't creepy, but how the words pop up on the screen is. The scenes are a little slow in the beginning and then they get faster and show a lot of action scenes. I like that the show another scene after the title of the movie. I don't like movie trailers that just end. I think this is a good movie trailer. It made me want to go see the movie. If I movie trailer gives me goose bumps and makes me scared then I think it did it's job.  

This movie trailer creeps me out and I have Goosebumps just watching it. I love that I have Goosebumps watching it because that means that it did it's job. The scary and freakier the movie trailer the more I want to see it. I love horror movies and if I am going to see a horror movie I want to be scared.

Warm Bodies Movie Trailer

Like most movie trailers this starts out with the usual green screen with white lettering. It shows three 2 second scenes of the zombie walking then it cuts to a long black screen then it cuts back to the zombie walking. At 14 seconds it shows the Summit Entertainment logo then another black screen It shows a lot of clips from the beginning of the movie. Then around 44 seconds they show action scenes. Some of the scenes are faster and others are slower. At 1:22 minutes it says "From Summit Entertainment" in a large font size against a red background. At 1:56 minutes it says "This February" in the same font and style has the last tiling scene. At 2:02 minutes it says" Love" in black against a red background. I was always told the black against red or vice versus was hard to read. The black doesn't stand out as much as the white, but it's still readable because of the size and font choice.At 2:07 it says "Makes Us Human." At 2:17 it says" Warm Bodies" in a bigger font than the previous tilting. Then it shows another scene it then cuts back to the release date tilting at 2:28 minutes.

I know that this movie trailer shows scenes from the very beginning, the middle, and the end. I think the timing of all of the clips are good. This movie trailer has slow and fast clips. This is a well-put together movie trailer. It has dialogue and background music. The background music changes according to the scene. This movie trailer uses various transitions like a long black pause, going to the next scene, and a quick black flash. I like that the don't over use the long black pauses. They used that only a few times. The tilting font, size, and color, fits perfectly with the theme of this movie. I saw this movie in theaters and on DVD and I love it.

Grown Ups 2 Movie Trailer

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YhOWtVElqfw This is the Grown Ups 2 movie trailer (2013). It is 2:19 minutes long. I can't find the exact makers of this movie trailer, but I think people associated with Columbia pictures and Happy Madison Productions helped make it.

This trailer starts off with the typical green screen with white lettering. Then it shows the Columbia Pictures logo and the Happy Madison logo. The actual trailer starts at 9 seconds with a titling that says "A Few Years Ago." Then it says "Some Old Friends" and the words are surrounded by old pictures of the characters in the movie. At 12 seconds it says "Shared One Unforgettable Weekend." Then it shows clips from the movie. They show a few more tilting throughout the movie. Starting at 1:35 minutes and ending at 1:42 minutes they show each of the 4 main characters up-close with their name next to them. I like that part because they showed the actors names in a creative way.

They show some scenes from the first movie in the beginning and at 28 seconds it starts showing scenes from the new movie.Some of the scenes are long and others are short. At 1:52 minutes it shows the Grown Ups 2 logo for about 4 seconds. They show a few more scenes after the movie tiling. Then at 2:16 minutes it shows the release date of the movie. The main transitions I saw were fading out/in and then going to the next scene. This trailer had dialogue between the characters and background music. The background music was playing the whole time except for a few times. I think the music fit the trailer well. The position of the tilting bugged me a little. The tilting was looked like it was a little off centered and more towards the bottom, but I think it was just an illusion. I think the black and white lines in the background is what is throwing me off. They might wanted to get rid of that background. It should be in the centered or off-centered more. I liked the timing of the scenes. It didn't go too fast or slow for me. They showed the right amount of short of long clips. I never actually saw this movie, but I heard that it wasn't good. This seemed like a decent trailer, but it didn't make me want to go see this movie right away in theaters.

Monster University Movie Trailer

It starts out with a green screen that has some information and rating (about 5 seconds). Then it shows the Disney pictures logo then the Pixar animation studios logo. At 8 seconds it shows the first scene from the movie. At 10 seconds it says "Every Dream," at 16 seconds it says "Begins Somewhere," at 28 seconds it says "From Disney Pixar," at 43 seconds it says "Some Are Born To Greatness," at 49 seconds it says "And Some...," at 58 seconds it says "Find Greatness on Their Own," at 1:35 minutes it says "This Summer," at 1:39 minutes it says "They'll Become The Team," at 1:46 minutes it says "That Opened Doors Everywhere," at 2:28 minutes is says "Monsters University Disney Pixar" and shows the date and website. All of the tilting has the same font, size, and background. It shows continuity.     

In the beginning of the trailer they have some slow scenes and the music is inspiring. At 17 seconds they show titling that slowly fades into the next scene. The titling starts out on a black background then fades onto a scene. I really like how they did that part. At 28 seconds another titling shows up and the music changes into a faster and more up-beat tempo. Some of the scenes get faster. They show more action scenes after the music changes. At 49 seconds the music changes again into a slower tempo and more sad music. They show some slow and sad scenes during that part. The music slowly gets a little faster and they show happy, sad, action, and non action scenes. At 1:35 minutes they show tilting and the music changes again into a faster beat and happier music. At 2:00 minutes they play an actual song. Even though the music changed tempos and beats a few times throughout the trailer it was still the same original sound. I liked the changes in music. They matched the music with the different scenes very well. I felt inspired, sad, happy, and excited watching this trailer.

The transitions they used in this trailer were going to the next scene, fade out, slow black fade, and quick black flash. This movie trailer is well put together. The timing of the scenes varied, but they all fit together well. This trailer had a lot of tilting and I think it worked because the tilting was spaced out. They had dialogue and music in this trailer, but not a narrator. I don't think there is any reason to have a narrator. The dialogue of the characters and the music say a lot.

101 Dalmatians (One Hundred and One Dalmatians) 1961 Movie Trailer

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0055254/ This is the 101 Dalmatians movie trailer. It's original title was One Hundred and One Dalmatians in 1961. I'm not sure if this is the original movie trailer or not. Bueno Vista which is a brand name frequently used for divisions of The Walt Disney Company.

This movie trailer is 1:51 minutes long. I counted the different timing of cuts/scenes as follows (this may not be exact timing) 6, 3, 2, 2, 2, 3, 2, 2, 1, 3, 2, 1, 2, 3, 3, 2, 1, 1, 2, 1, 1, 2, 1, 2, 1, 2, 1, 1, 2, 2, 2, 2, 1, 1, 2, 1, 1, 2, 1, 2, 1, 1, 1, 1, 2, 2, 2, 1, 2, 1, 3, 2, 1, 2, 2, 2, 3, 2, 3, 2, 4, 3, 2. It starts out with a long scene of the human parents playing the piano with all of the puppies and dog parents in the room gathered around the piano. "101 Dalmatians" shows on the screen for about 3 seconds. The color of the word is red with a white outline and it's a sans serif font.  This trailer doesn't use any transitions. All of the scenes go to the next scene without a transition. There is some dialogue, a narrator, and background music. There is background music playing throughout the trailer. The music is turned down when a character is speaking. This trailer shows scenes from all parts of the movie. At 1:39 minutes it says "Two Thumbs Up! -Siskel and Ebert" in yellow over top of the scenes. At 1:42 minutes it says "Wonderful... On a Scale of 10 This Film Gets 101! - Good Morning America." in the same font and color as the last quote. The tilting is aligned left and takes up a good portion of the bottom part of the scene. The ending clip last about 3 seconds and it's the exact clip from the very beginning of the trailer. It also shows the tilting of the movie again then it fades to black.

This is a very old film so the producers and editors didn't have the technology that we do today. Back then it was probably amazing how far motion pictures had come. 101 Dalmatians will always be a classic, so I can't critique this trailer too much because it was made in 1961. Our movies have come a long way since then. The tilting is very weak in this movie trailer. The beginning and ending titling isn't bad for 1961, but the rest of the tilting is weak. I liked the timing of the different scenes. This trailer had slow and fast scenes. I thought the narrator and music helped this movie trailer. Most of the newer movie trailers don't have narrators. The music fit this trailer well. Other than the titling, I think this is a well put together movie trailer.

Ghost Rider Movie Trailer

Spot trailer 5, so they probably had a few different trailers air on t.v. It is 32 seconds long. This was probably a T.V. spot movie trailer, like the movie trailers you see during commercial breaks. I can't find the person who made this video, but I'm assuming the Columbia pictures and marvel put this video together.

The timing of the scenes in this trailer are very fast. I counted the scenes like this: 3, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 2, 2, 3, 1, 2, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1,1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1,1,1, 1, 4. Most of the 1 second scenes are about half of a second.  The transitions either go to the next scene or have a quick white flash. At 3 seconds it shows the Columbia Pictures logo for half of a second. They have a scene at 11-12 seconds where the Johnny turns into the ghost rider and he wipes a fiery chain across the screen. The next slip shows the close-up of the fiery chains and it says "On February 16th" in fire. At 25 seconds it says "Ghost Rider" in white letters and with flames behind the words against a black background for about 2 seconds. At 29 seconds it shows the release date close to the top of the screen, the website, producers logo, and rating on top of a scene. That lasts for about 4 seconds. This movie trailer was dialogue, a narrator, and background music.

I like this movie a lot, but I don't like this particular movie trailer. The scenes go way to fast and a lot of them get lost because they are only shown for about half of a second or one second. They need to take some of the clips out and make other ones longer. The longest clip they had was about 3-4 seconds and that was the last clip at the end where Johnny and the Caretaker are talking. I like the different scenes they showed, but they need to last longer. I like the mix of dialogue between the characters, a narrator, and background music. I also like how they used a quick white flash instead of a black flash to transition to the next scene. The first titling was only shown for about 1 second. I could barley read what it said. I had to watch the trailer again and pause it so I could see what it said. The ending titling was up longer than the first one, which is good, but all tilting should be up long enough for the audience to read it. This isn't the best movie trailer I've seen.

Transformers 3 Full Movie Trailer

This is the Transformers 3 Dark of the Moon Trailer. It is 2:31 minutes long, so it's a full length trailer. It is slow in the beginning and has long black pauses between each scene. From the start of the trailer to about 57 seconds the scenes are 2-3 seconds long. At 30 seconds they show a scene from inside a giant under ground building and they have a voice over during that scene. The next scene at 33 seconds actually shows the lady talking to the guy. There is some tilting in this trailer. At 36 seconds they show the Paramount logo for about 2 seconds. The beginning of the trailer shows scenes that doesn't have action in them, but show more of the places.

"From Director Michael Bay" pops up against a black background for about 1-2 seconds at 56 seconds. Then there is a 5 second long clip and another title comes up that says "And Executive Producer Steven Spielberg" Both of the titling has the same color and font.

At 1:10 minutes the scenes get faster and most of them are action/fighting scenes. These scenes do not have any transition between them. At 1:17 minutes a titling scene comes up the says "On 7.1.11" It has the same font and color as the previous titling scenes, but the font size is bigger. They have a scenes that show from 1-4 seconds. Most of the scenes are action scenes and some show people talking or a place. These scenes either have a quick black flash or no transition. Starting at 2:22 minutes and ending at 2:24 minutes they show the name of the movie, which is Transformers slowing transforming into the movie name. It also has the full name of the movie and the director's name. They show the release date of the movie next, which is 7.1.11. Then they show 4 titling scenes in a row that say the production names, visual effects and animation, music by, executive producers, based on, written by, and directed by. These titling scenes are about 1 second long. It's not enough time to read the words, but they never give people enough time to read it because it's not that important to the audience.

I liked the timing and transitions in this movie trailer. This trailer has a good balance of fast and slow scenes. The beginning of the trailer had a slow and calm feel compared to the action packed and fast feel towards the end of the trailer. The makers of this trailer did a good job of transitioning the beginning and end of the trailer to make the audience have that different feelings. The long black transitions worked well in the beginning of the trailer and the scenes without a transition worked well towards the middle/end. Starting around 1:05 minutes till the end of the trailer I felt a lot of suspense, which is a good thing. All of the titling had the same design language. If someone sees the same tilting used somewhere else (like a poster, cut-out, internet, etc.) they would probably put 2 and 2 together and figure out that the titling belongs the movie Transformer 3. That's called a design language and every movie trailer usually has it's own. This movie trailer definitely makes me want to go see it in theaters.

Men In Black 3 Movie Trailer

This is the Men in Black 3 movie trailer. It is a 1:58 minutes long. It is a little longer than the first one. It starts out a little differently. They have a green screen with information on it for 5 seconds then a black screen then 2 clips from the movie then it shows the Columbia Pictures logo, but the lady is holding a the memory eraser stick and she is wearing the men in black sunglasses. They modified the logo slightly to fit in with the movie. That usually doesn't happen that often. I think it's very creative and helps the beginning of the trailer. The scenes go a little fast in the beginning and between each scene there is a long black flash. They probably have the black flash as a transition between the scenes that do go together in the trailer. The scenes are from different parts of the movie. I like when they use the black flash for a short period of time during the trailer. It creates anticipation. It would get annoying if they did that for every transition. They have a long scene that starts at 21 seconds and ends at 37 seconds, but it's broken up into 5 small clips or different camera angles. There is one clip that is 7 seconds long. That is pretty long for one clip, but it fits well in the trailer. At 37 seconds they show a black screen that says "From Columbia Pictures." Between 42 seconds and 49 seconds each scene has a black flash transition. The flashes can be a little distracting, so they should be used sparingly. They have another 5 second long clip. The timing of the scenes slows down in the middle and then gets faster. At 58 seconds it says "This Summer" that is up for 1 ½ - 2 seconds. There is another title clip at 1:12 minutes that says "He'll have to find the answer" and that is up for 3 seconds. At 1:19 it says "In Time" for 2 seconds. At 1:38 it starts to show the Men in Black logo for 4 seconds. After the title of the movie shows, it shows another scene for 8 seconds. Then it says, "Memorial Day," and right after that it says, "In 3D and IMAX 3D."

This movie also has it's own design language. All of the titling font, size, colors, and transitions were the same. After the words popped up it showed a blue flash in the background, like the words were time jumping. This trailer has continuity with it's design language. If I saw the same words in a different place I would know that it is from MIB. It's smart to keep all of the titling the same.

The transitions I saw get used the most was a quick black flash, a slow black flash, and going straight to the next scene (no transition). I think the black flashes were over used. I liked the timing of this trailer. They had a good amount of fast and slow scenes and they spread it out throughout the trailer. This trailer seemed like it was longer than it actually was. They showed the right amount of titling too. Not too much, but enough to get straight to the point.

All 3 Men in Black movie trailers are slightly different. The first and second movie trailer shows the 2 men coming out of the logo and the last movie trailer only shows the logo. All of the trailers start in a very similar way. The design language has improved in a good way and I can tell that by seeing the titling in the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, movie trailer. The first movie trailer shows a black screen with san-serif font and white lettering. The second trailer shows the same thing, but the font is slightly different (seems more stretched out) and it has a quick blue circle that flashes when the words comes up. The final trailer is similar to the second one, but the font is slightly different again (looks sharp and clean) and it also has a bigger and longer blue flash in the background. My favorite one is the last one.

Overall, I liked this movie trailer, but I think the quick black flashes got overused a little. They were a little distracting and repetitive.

Men in Black Trailer

I'm not sure who made it this trailer, but I know it's from Columbia Pictures. It's a 1:40 minutes long. It starts out with a green screen with information on it for 5 seconds then it shows a black screen then it shows the Columbia pictures logo then it goes into another black screen that starts the movie trailer. At 11 seconds it says "From Steven Spielberg's Amblin Entertainment." At 13-35 seconds there is a guy that is talking overtop of different scenes. It shows a couple of 1-2 seconds scenes that are broken up by 3 black pauses between them. Around 44 seconds it starts to go faster and they show some action scenes. At 57 seconds it shows a black screen with "Tommy Lee Jones" in white letters, at 1:01 minutes it shows a black screen with "Will Smith" in white letters, and at 1:13 minutes it shows another black screen with "A Film by Berry Sonnenfeld." It gets faster towards the end. There is another guy talking at the end when they show the MIB logo and the 2 guys coming out of the logo. I think guy in the beginning and the guy at the end are two different guys talking. The guy at the end says" Men In Black.. Protecting the Earth from the Scum of the Universe" and there is also music towards the end. The music started at 1:12 minutes. At the end they showed 2 black screens with information and then they showed another black screen that said "Summer" for 2 seconds.

This trailer used different transitions between scenes, like a quick black flash, a slow black wipe, and no transition. I think they should have showed more scenes from the movie, like from different parts of the movie. They basically showed 3 different scenes. This trailer seemed short. I liked the beginning of the trailer though. I think this trailer could be improved, but it was made in 1997.

Titanic Movie Trailer

The trailer is long so I didn't count how long each scene was. I counted up to about 1:50 minutes. The first clip shows the rating of the movie (PG-13) on a green screen that stays up for 5 seconds. Then the timing is as follows: 2, 2, 2, 2, 1, 2, 1, 1, 3, 3, 1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3, 1, 1, 2, 3, 1, 2, then a black pause, 3, another black pauses, 2, 2, 2, 1, 3, 2, 1, 1, 1, 3, 1, 1, 1, 7, 1, 2, 1, 2 seconds. At 3:14 mintues it showed a black screen that said "A James Camerion Flim" and that was up for 1 seconds. At 3:18 minutes it showed a black screen that said "Leonardo Dicaprio" for 1seconds. At 3:22 it showed another black screen that said "Kate Winslet" for 1 second. The scenes got faster towards the end when the ship was sinking. There was a white flash at 4:01 minutes then it showed the word "Titanic" against one of the scenes in the beginning of the trailer. It ended with 2 black screens with some information ( 2 seconds each) then it showed the release date at the very end for 3 seconds.

There are some current movie trailers that show the actors name in the trailer, but I don't see that a lot. The "narrator" usually says the famous actors name during the trailer over top of a scene (separate audio). All of the titling was towards the end. The movie trailer has it's own design language. All oF the titling was in capital letters and it had a white to blue gradient on the words.

 I think the trailer was too long and showed too much of the film. It was more of a summary of the movie instead of a trailer. I pretty much know everything that is going to happen in this movie because it showed scenes from the beginning, middle, and end. If I was to go watch this movie in theaters I wouldn't be surprise at anything.That is a bad thing to do in movie trailers. They shouldn't give away the whole movie. I also think this trailer lost a lot of it's viewers interest/attention because it was so long. They should have shaved off about 2 minutes.

Scary Movie 5 T.V. Trailer

The Scary Movies are a horror comedy spoof film. The 5th one just came out. I love all of the Scary Movies, but this one wasn't the best one. This is the Scary Movie 5 movie trailer that was shown on T.V. It is 31 seconds long.

It's hard to perfectly count the timing of scenes in movie trailers. This is what I got from beginning to end: 1, 1, 3, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 1, 1, 1, 2, 1, 1, 4, 2, and 2. The last 2 scenes were the title of the movie/rating and the release date. At 5 seconds in showed a black screen with the producers name (Dimension Films). This trailer also had audio that was separate from the dialogues and music. At 5 seconds the narrator said: "One movie has everything you are looking for" then it showed 3 different scenes that said, "Witches, The Bible, and Demons." It made it seem like the people were responding to the narrator. At 13 seconds he said, "more action," at 20 seconds he said, "more excitement," and at 23 seconds he said, "and more surprises."

I have to create a 30 second movie trailer and this movie trailer is only 1 second longer than what I have to create. I might use similar timing for my scenes. I like the timing of the scenes. I like how they have fast scenes that are broken up by slower scenes. It gives the viewers some breathing time. They have scenes that are less then a second to scenes that are 4 seconds long. The spacing of the short and long scenes work well. I don't like movie trailers that have all 1 second scenes, it goes too fast and can be distracting. I also like how there was a narrator in this movie trailer. Sometimes narrators work and other times they don't. It all depends on the type of movie. In this case the narrator worked.

I only saw 2 different transitions. All of the scenes went straight to the next scene and one scene swiped into the next scene. The scenes were from different parts of the movie, but they didn't have any kind of transition between them. I didn't have a problem with the transitions. This movie doesn't need any dramatic black screen pauses or flashes since it's a horror comedy spoof film.
