http://vimeo.com/71364290 Part 1: TV2 "Hello On Two" Morning Talk Show Interview. This interview is 15 minutes long. This is RTM's only English talk show. I'm not sure where the studio is located at. I am researching talk show interviews because I am doing a self-interview video project. I want to know how the interview starts and end. I also want to see the different camera angles and timing. I'm not sure who made this video.
This interview starts out by the guy interviewer saying "Welcome back on this wonderful Tuesday afternoon." The guy and woman are sitting on a couch and they are both holding some papers. The woman interviewer reference her paper when she introduces their guest. She says, "So we are going to welcome... (and the name)." The camera shows the two interviewers from the waist up then the camera zooms out and shows the whole studio with all 3 people sitting down. Then they show the interviewee (the guest) from the waist up. At 57 seconds a banner pops up towards the bottom of the screen that says, "Underwater Photography" for about 7 seconds. Another banner pops up at 1:19 minutes and this time it says, "Mohd Halimi Abdullah, Director PADi Scuba Instructor, Ocean Element, "and that lasts for about 8 seconds. The camera goes back and forth from the interviewee, interviews, and the studio. It also shows the interviewees underwater photography cameras and a video clip of him diving. They show a close-up of them. The interviewers moves their hands frequently while talking, but nothing too distracting. They also show some point of view shots of the interviewee holding his camera. They don't show the reactions of people. Sometimes while the camera is on the interviewee the interviewers will react, but we only hear their reactions (mmh, yeah, right, oh, etc.). We don't actually see it. The interview just ends at 15 minutes. This is only part 1 of the interview, so I'm amusing that there is a part 2.
I didn't watch the entire interview. I watched up to 5 minutes then I skimmed though the rest. This video has 3 basic camera angles: close-up of the interviewee, close-up of the interviewers, and far away shot of the studio with the people sitting on the couch. They is a good amount of B-roll in this video. They show pictures and videos of the underwater photography in the water. They show some of the pictures for too long. The timing of the different cuts are pretty slow. I get a slow and calm feeling from this interview. I like that we hear the reactions as well as see them. I see the interviewers reactions a few times, but I hear them more. The point of view shots of the hands helped this video out a lot, so I' not constantly watching the people talk. This isn't the most exciting interview I have watched.
